Grandma's Birthday
DJ decided to take his Grandma out for dinner for her birthday last night. We had a nice dinner at the Club Car in Clive and DJ was very entertaining and well behaved.
He wanted to take a picture to remember the event so I made sure to docuement it!

Updated Pictures
Here are few pictures of DJ:
Here he is grasping Daddy's goatee
Here is his favorite version of Tummy Time, he does it a few minutes and then decides to eat his arm or hand!
We were able to visit North Iowa this weekend and saw Cousin Britney and Aunt Connie as well as Chris and Casey. We also visited the lake and spent some time with the Great Grand Parents. Here is a picture of Great Grandma with DJ.
Finally we have captured the best picture of DJ with his feet. He is fascinated and every morning we have a ritual of the "Superman/Touchdown" stretch followed by chatting up the parents and eating his feet. It is offically his favorite past time...which is then followed by watching Sports Center with Daddy.
The kid had better be a sports fan!!

Busy Busy People!!
It has been a crazy week and a half since we last updated! After DJ's 4 month appointment he still had a lingering cough he just could not shake so being the over-precautionary parents we are we took him back in Wednesday, 01/14/09 as he was sounding worse. Good thing we did! He had the beginning of RSV and two other babies in his class were diagnosed with it as well. We kept him home for a few days giving nebulizer treatments every 3 hours as well as antibiotics for an ear infection. He eventually began feeling better and by Sunday evening was on the mend.
Just in time for returning to school and Mommy to start Drake's spring semester. This week has been busy, school 4 days a week, working full time and normal life has made getting blog entries not as a priority! Fortunately, the weather was great most of the week but, we are back to the Arctic today. We are keeping DJ healthy and inside as much as possible to prevent another respiratory attack.
The next few weeks will be busy we are trying to see friends and family in Illinois that we missed over the holidays due to weather. Heading up north this weekend and then celebrating Grandma's birthday next week.
I will upload some pictures soon as DJ has been quite the changer! He is now playing with his feet constantly, rolling back and forth on his back to his tummy, and now reaching and grasping for new things including Daddy's goatee and Mommy's chin.
We attempted rice cereal last night and while I thought he was swallowing he truly was holding in his mouth and then decided to spit it out and spread it all over everything.
He keeps us on our toes!!

DJ is 4 months!
Hard to believe DJ is 4 months old. It is amazing all the changes he has gone through, even the teachers at daycare are amazed at how big and "grown-up" DJ is getting.
DJ had his checkup and shots on Friday and did better than at 2 months. His stats are always fun to see he is long and thin. His length is 25 inches which is the 60th percentile, 13.9 lbs- 25th percentile and head is 16.5 inches which is the 50th percentile. He is not as "chunky" as Mommy thought but Daddy said now they can start working on weight training. Just kidding of course!!!
I have a few pictures of DJ in his bumbo, it is the greatest invention to get babies used to sitting up. He is liking it more and more every time and he is really talking and chatting up a storm. He loves to coo, grunt and make noises till we talk to him-he is a ham and quite a character.

Happy New Year!
Happy New Year!
Our first New Years was very uneventful, we were asleep by 7pm well, except Devon who was awake till about 9:30. We are recovering still from the flu and definitely are only functioning at partial ability. DJ must be going through a growth spurt, yesterday was a hungry day. He ate about 6oz every two hours or so, it made for a long night when we have been spoiled with DJ sleeping through the most of the night. But, if it makes him bigger and stronger in 2009 we will live!
Today we have had a very busy day of exersaucer, bouncy seat, tummy time and finally our new favorite of Playhouse Disney. It's amazing how fascinated he becomes by Mickey and friends...he is spellbound. I figure its better than the cooking shows or reality TV we are watching at other times.
We watched the Outback Bowl and were happy to see Iowa win, Go Hawks.
