Daddy's Boy

Daddy and DJ have had more time together recently due to my school schedule, we are happy that is ending on July 2! They have enjoyed the time together and DJ is really quite a Daddy's boy during the week. He seems to know when Mommy is around more on weekends (but not this one!) and tends to cling to Mommy during that time. Daddy and DJ have been working on standing and pulling up to a stand, they have succeeded. It's not every morning you wake up at 630am and hear silence..then look in your son's room and see him standing in his crib leaning over!

DJ is trying to keep us on our toes! He is into EVERYTHING, while we love his Independence and curiosity it's Exhausting! Burning all the energy getting into things has increased his appetite as well. We have been introducing various table foods and DJ has grown quite fond of a few things. He loves Ritz crackers (just like his Daddy) and ate 1/2 a whole grain waffle for breakfast! He things grapes are still pretty good and Yo Baby Yogurt is a breakfast fav!

We did finally get some 9 month pictures taken today...and DJ was a bit uncooperative but we managed.

We are very excited for swimming in the lake on Friday and Saturday! Can't wait to see everyone and celebrate the 4th of July!

Happy Father's Day and 1 year Anniversary!!!

Today was a big day, it is Devon's first Father's Day and our 1 year wedding anniversary. To celebrate the big day, we did nothing. Absolutely, nothing. It was a Devon's decision day and this was what he wanted. I didn't mind it so much either, as it helped to make me relax. DJ was very involved in the days activities....they are as follows....

We woke up....and read the paper before Grandma came and had a brief mimosa (mommy had several mimosa's).



Then we played outside in our new pool and tried to enjoy the heat, it was very short lived....it was too hot for Mom, Dad and Baby. Even Sadies only wanted to be outside for a brief few minutes!!



Then we came back inside and got ready for bed!!



We are very excited for only two more weeks of classes and then we can try and get back to our "normal" family. It has been so great to have Mikaela help us out and have her as our backup but, I will love to be home every night again!!

DJ has been really advancing in leaps and bounds. He has gotten two more teeth in the past weeks and now we are nearing 8 teeth. He has also started to pull himself up and loves to kneel in his crib or even a tripod with one leg extended. He is only brief moves from standing....I am NOT ready for that!

DJ has finally tonight taken to a sippy cup, all other versions prior to tonight have been tossed, thrown and utterly hated...I really thought he would have to travel directly to regular cups. He proved me wrong, and decided to give it a shot. It worked much better than before (3 oz), minor success!!

DJ is also eating some table foods and has proven his love for grapes, bread of any form, pasta and frosting...I know not a great combination but, its baby tastes.

We are looking forward to 4th of July in two weeks to visit with Family and swim in the Lake!

9 Month Stat....Just Average??

I find it hard to believe that DJ is "just average" however, according to the stats he is just that.

Weight: 20.5 lbs-60 percentile
Height: 28.75 inches-50 percentile


He is doing quite well and still growing!

Happy 9 Months DJ!!

Hard to believe that DJ is 9 months old! He is such a big boy and really coming into his own. He is VERY mobile, always crawling somewhere and moving around the house. He is very capable of self feeding and loves his puffs, yogurt bites and biter biscuits. He is protesting the sippy cup and feels its only reason for existence it to be tossed from his high chair!~ We will try other methods and means in the next few weeks but currently he is strongly protesting!

He is proving to be quite musical, he loves to "bob" his head to the music beat which is good as his father is starting the rap and hard metal rock early! Currently his musical favorites are SlipKnot and multiple rappers. I am sure this will somewhere down the road stunt his growth but, I am trying to allow to explore musical options!

He enjoys the dog all the time. If his separation anxiety is too high if Mom and Dad are not with him then Sadie will suffice. She is very patient with him and he loves to pat her, pull her feet (OUCH!!) and allows her a kiss or two. He is also exploring his new food options by trying to eat her dog food this morning, I caught him in time but, I am sure this will not be the first attempt!

We are celebrating his 9 months with an I-Cubs game tonight with Mommy, Daddy and Grandma, we are all looking forward to it and will include pictures in the morning as well as his newest stats after the checkup at the Dr.

Grandpa Weekend!!

DJ was able to have both of his Grandfathers visit this past weekend, it was a nice time with both. Great weather allowed us to be outside and work in the yard, albeit breifly! DJ is having a great time exploring in the grass and trying to eat everything that is on the ground. We are really getting our workout and learning to watch him like a hawk. The most recent addition to our plethora of child proofing and toys is the babygate. We have always had one with Sadie however, now its for the child! DJ would just not leave the front door alone so, I was forced to go to desperate measures!!

Devon and DJ also had a great but brief visit with Danielle and Nico on Friday. It was a great time for the cousins. They are so close in age but very different!
