DJ Mau has arrived...

Can you believe it, we have a little man! DJ Mau made his arrival on 09-11-08 at 955pm weighing in at 7lbs and 7 oz. and 19.5 inches long. He is perfect and beautiful and we could not be more happy. I have attached a picture or two of the beautiful little being.

We are all doing well and waiting for tomorrow morning to head home!

38 weeks...almost

Well we are in the final two weeks and have no major problems or updates. I firmly believe this child is content in the womb and not making the transition anytime soon.

I am dilated to 1 cm, not much else going on. Dr. says if I think I am in labor at anytime head to the hospital but, haven't felt that yet. Lots of Braxton-Hicks contractions at night-guess DJ is preparing for the big event.

We moved last weekend, are slowly getting settled...but the biggest thing is we have the nursery setup and the bassinet in our room. We are basically settled in the baby's room and are ready for him to arrive.

We just received great news that Danielle and Connor had their baby last night...it was a boy, name undetermined, and was almost 6lbs and 19 inches long. He was early (about 5 weeks) so he will be hanging out in NICU for a bit but, everyone is doing well.

Congrats to them, now...we are just waiting for our arrival!

We are in the home stretch!

Currently we are 9 months pregnant-hard to believe it huh? I am still feeling great, some aches and pains but what do you expect when I am carrying another person around.

I did a one mile walk for charity on Saturday with my friend Tracey and it made me feel good to know I could still do it this far along. I just keep doing what I can.

Went to the dr. yesterday and we are still on course for the 20th of Sept (give or take) as our due date. Baby is big, but....not causing us any troubles healthwise so no need to rush it.

We closed on the house last night and so we will move this weekend and then I can get the nursery all set-up. I am anxious for that and ready to get his room all ready.

Overall a healthy baby and mommy is all we care about and of course a stress-free dad...but we all know that will never happen!

Dr. Appointment Update

We went to the Dr. on Tuesday and were able to determine that DJ is actually head down! That is one less thing to worry about and makes us very happy he is not breech or else wise. His heartbeat was about 150 bpm, and very healthy. As usual is a little ahead of the game, measuring a few weeks ahead but, nothing to worry about yet. Next time we return we will actually start going every week and then they will start to determine if I am dilated or not. We attended our Lamaze classes last Saturday and learned quite a bit, and are looking forward to the actual birth-well, I am- Maybe not Devon!

I was fortunate enough to be able to return to IL for my dad’s birthday and was able to visit with my friends who were kind enough to throw me a small shower. We received great clothing, diapers, wipes…etc and a bouncer. Which we have been advised is the tool to use-when trying to get a shower accomplished!

We are nearing the home stretch and the Dr. kindly informed me the baby could come 2 weeks before or after our due date-which is completely normal. So, while I am anxious I am also trying to be patient!

34 Weeks or 8 1/2 months!~

We are surprised and amazed that we are nearing the home stretch. 8 1/2 months this Saturday and we attend our Lamaze class. Devon was busy last night had Daddy Boot Camp and learned a few new things and then on Tuesday we had our Breast Feeding class which at about 80 people was alot. But, again very educational and made us feel more "prepared" (if that is possible :D) for the next month.

We are busy over the next few weeks packing as we close on our home in about 2.5 weeks and then will get moved in. Then I will feel better when I have the crib in his room, everything set up even if he won't use it for a few months.

We go back to the Dr. on Tuesday next week and we will see what the next appointment brings. As expected he is still ahead of schedule in size but, not to the point they are moving the due date. Just planning for a big baby! If we are able to get another ultrasound that will be exciting but, if not we are happy to know the days are nearing!
