A trip to Minnesota

We as a family had a great time in the Twin Cities on Thursday and Friday.  I had to be in the area for business from Mon-Thursday and the boys came up to sight see before we could take a little vacation.  We didn't do much, just drove around, visited the Metro Dome, and got to do a few things we don't normally do in Des Moines.  It was a blast and we all came home tired and in one piece, that is an ideal vacation!!

Moving Luggage-My parent's make me do EVERYTHING!!

The Illustrious Metro Dome-Home of the Vikings!

The Mau's at the Metro Dome
(Uncle Bobby-my jersey is too small-Can I have another one??)

Loring Park, a great place in South Minneapolis.

The Park had a pool, it was free and FUN!-- Awesome background too!

The Wienery-Cedar Riverside Neighborhood.
It was on Diner's, Drive-in's and Dives--We had to visit
Awesome Hot dogs!
DJ had to walk off his hot dog after dinner!
BTW- we also drove around University of Minnesota, Home of the Golden Gophers, they have an AMAZING new football field that we got to see!!

Here is a few links to our visits:

A day at the beach in West Des Moines

DJ loves the water, loves to play outside and daddy and mommy love to finding free things within the community to explore. We had a great week compared to last weekend.

I spent Friday night and most of Saturday with Grandma Gwen. Mommy and Daddy did Urbandale Amazing Race. Which was a 14 mile bike ride with 7 different challenges along the way. My parents finished the race and won some great prizes.

Okie dokie

The reason for the title today? Dj has several new words, but OK today seems to be his favorite. However its hard to just pick one some days. STOP, Ready set go. Are all on the list this week.

This was a busy week for DJ. We moved many flower's in are backyard. A recent visit with Great Grandpa Butler DJ started playing the piano to the delight of not only Great Grandpa but many. Uncle Dillon and Grandpa Mau stopped to play and took me out to eat. Daddy promised to take me swimming and when checked out a new pool in Clive. Friday night ended on a perfect Night at the ball park watching the Iowa Cubs with Daddy and Mommy and Grandma Gwen.

Devon Love Mau II

4th of July Weekend

The family headed up to North Iowa, to play and swim at Lake Cornelia with Great Grandma Butler and family and then to Klemme, to spend the Night with Grandpa Mau. Friday was a blast, I love to swim in the Lake and Aunt Maggie play with me. Daddy helped out the men Clean the garage. Then off too Klemme, I had a surprise and got to see Aunt Cher as she was in town for a Class Reunion. I was having so much fun, they family took a drive to Clear Lake a little after Midnight. This is the story DJ's is sticking with.

Saturday started off very normal, eating watching Cartoon and playing with Grandpa, However, tried to play a game of 5 little monkeys jumping on the bed which lead to a little blood Mommy and Daddy rushed me to Belmond scared I might need a few stitches. It was all good just had a nice cut. Then back to Klemme to load up the car and off to the Lake for more fun. The day was wrapped up in Ames at Pizza Ranch. Enjoy the picture and we hope all family and friend had a great 4th of July.

What better way to meet new friends then a church? So I asked my Daddy about joining Vacation Bible School and I was to young. Then I volunteered my Daddy to teach the Recreation at VBS and I could tag along. We had a blast!! Friends, Sports, Dancing, Singing and more.
