Busy Boy-DJ Mau

We are the parents of a busy busy boy. He has many new talents including:

Walking behind the push toy from Grandpa's.

Helping Mommy in the kitchen, pushing the mixing bowls around and opening cabinets.

Standing at the sliding glass door and waving at Sadie, as well as trying to open the door.

Eating all food, a new favorite from Daycare is Tater Tots and Ground Meat (he is an Iowa boy after all!!)

Holding his own bottle and now using his sippy cup properly. It's a fun new trick!!

Walking along furniture and today for the first time, standing completely unassisted. This is new today and occurred at the Library, so I could not cheer.
Plus DJ was pulling books from the shelves shortly before so the constant "No" was slightly discouraging.

We are constantly distracting and redirecting to new more positive actions, its a challenge some days!

We will update some pictures shortly!!

Fun Summertime

DJ has perfected a new look recently we decided it was a must share.

What do you think??

DJ had a great weekend, he spent Saturday with Grandma and was quite a good boy, according to Grandma of course. They played, swang and slept, it was a good time had by all.

We then on Sunday worked around the house and DJ played outside...he is perfecting his standing skills.

He is completely crawling, on all fours. He is VERY speedy and keeps us all running. He has managed to open the sliding glass door to the backyard, when he stands. He is really doing well at swim lessons, and as the youngest in our group he is showing off his fearlessness. He is a willing participant in going completely under water and kicking and trying to paddle. It's really a great time for he and I. We are trying to get a few pictures off the video camera to share soon!

DJ is getting more teeth, we are currently up to about 9 and I know there are more moving on down. They are proving to be quite stubborn!!

Here is a new visitor in our flowers, one lone Star Gazer Lily...so pretty!!

Happy 10 months DJ!!

Its hard to believe that D.J. is 10 months old, it seems like we just had colic and weren't sleeping through the night, oh wait we still aren't! It's a work in progress. I(Jayme) have given the blog ownership over to the boys this week so here is the story according to my boys!

Per Devon, from D.J.'s point of view

What a Weekend!!

Started off with my Daddy's car breaking down on his way home for the weekend-good thing it was towable and according to Mommy not too expensive!! Daddy was able to let off some anger and forget about that by going to a concert later that night- four bands at the legendary Val Air Ball Room- Which ended with daddy's new favorite band Hollywood Undead.

Let's just say Daddy looked like an undercover cop trying to blend in with the kids. The concert was very fun even if the bands and local radio labeled it as the hottest concert ever. Daddy told me that Hollywood Undead ROCKED and when I get older he will tell me a few stories about why the high temperature was enjoyable.
(Think young ladies minimal clothing)

Saturday started with Daddy taking me and Mommy to Farmers Market. I think Daddy had to pay for partying Friday night out without us. Mommy really enjoys the BIGGER Farmers Market, I enjoy people watching and get to see tons of DOGS, but it was to hot for Sadie, but I wore my Boston Terrier T-shirt to show my support. We came home and I crashed for a few hours and Mommy and Daddy played with the flower garden.

Then it was off to see Aunt Becky and Australian Cousin Jill!!! I put on a great show like normal, everyone loves me. The night was just starting. I got to go to my very first Pro Football game The Iowa Barnstomers. I guess they are a big deal as Daddy really loves the team. Daddy even said he was at the very first Arena Football game in Iowa, then he talks for hours about the team and the history but, normally I fall asleep after the first Kurt Warner story.

Mommy warned me that daddy might get crazy, but I was so happy that so many people came to the game to party for my 10 month birthday party. I loved the game so much- there was so much stuff to do and see.

I'm debating what was the best part either the cute little cheerleaders at half time or the fact I got to go on the field after the game.

Here are my pictures, envisioning my TOUCHDOWN!!

I have a very busy schedule these days with Playing you know!

I cannot wait for Monday afternoon, I start swim lessons I am sure my Mom and Dad will post pics!

Busy Fourth of July Weekend

We were able to travel during the past weekend and were quite busy! We headed to Lake Cornelia and Klemme on Friday, stopped at the Lake and visited briefly before heading to Klemme for the night. We attempted swimming on Friday in the lake however, it was cold and DJ was not in love with the whole "COLD" concept.

First Ice Cream cone...very yummy!!

We had a great visit in Klemme with Grandpa Mau and Uncle Dillon, it was nice to spend Friday night with both of them. The after a slow rainy start to Saturday we headed back to the lake, and visited with all the Gowin Cousins, it was great to see everyone!

Grandpa got a new Mower--a new toy.

We arrived back home in Urbandale to Fireworks galore, from our driveway we could see 3 different shows, at once! And none of them were Urbandale's, those did not start till an hour later! After a VERY late night, we made it to bed and tried to sleep.

Sunday we headed to downtown Des Moines, walked around and had a great at the Spaghetti Works, then come back to the park and Urbandale carnival. We enjoyed our time and then worked outside in the yard.

DJ thinks mowing is quite fun!!

A nice long weekend with friends, family and activities!

P.S--Welcome to our new playmate, Owen James Kaduce born on July 6th. We can't wait to meet him and The Kaduce's are doing well (Jay, Rebecca and Evan).
