Few shots with Cousin Spencer

All the Butler's were together on October 24th for Jill and James wedding celebration-while we didn't get any pictures of DJ with Jill and James he did spend alot of time with his cousins again.  He and Spencer are close in age about 6 months apart and played well on Great Grandpa Butler's mower.  We think he would have smiled to see the boys on it.

Pumpkin Patches and Happy Halloween!

We have had lots of chances to Trick or Treat and visit pumpkin patches this year.  We attended the Halloween celebration at Living History Farms, Merle Hay Mall and finally our own block.  DJ had options for his costume and he chose Bob the Builder (he called it Handy Manny as well...).  It worked out that his Bob the Builder hardhat and other tools fit the costume perfectly!

Outdoor Family Time

October is wrapping up and that means taking advantage of the last minute chances to be outside.  We ventured to Jester Park for the Outdoor Family event two weeks ago.  Lots of activities outside and learning about the park and equestrian center.

Exploring at Jester Park

Devon and DJ have found this fall a true gem in Jester Park.  Located in Granger, IA about 10 minutes away this amazing park has bison and elk as well as great outdoor playground area.  They are able to spend hours and exploring the wildlife areas.

Patch's Pumpkin Patch

We took DJ to his 1st pumpkin patch of the season, we will also go back to Howell's this coming weekend, we love to visit there!  Here are a few pictures of his good times!

At this point, he was not in the mood for pictures!

Mommy and DJ on the tractor, he loves to ride on tractors!
We didn't even get any pumpkins yet, we are saving that for next weekend!

Gotta love being at the pumpkin patch in 80 degree weather, and getting a sun burn!!

Iowa Outdoor Family Event

About two weeks ago we took DJ to the Iowa Family Outdoor Event, it was great fun and all free. We were able to fish, shoot archery (DJ was too young), kayak (again too young), make a bird feeder and most importantly in DJ's world, ride tractors.  They also had the option to shoot skeet and watching hunting dogs.  It was pretty cool.

DJ enjoyed the fishing most of all. I think Great Grandpa Butler and Great Grandpa Mair would have been proud of their little fisherman.

Mom and Dad were just their to cast the line, everything else was all DJ!!

Thomas the Train

For DJ's 2nd Birthday we took him to see Thomas the Train and ride on it as well.  He was very excited and couldn't believe that he got to ride the train as well.  Given the weather was wet, cold and not very inviting we had a great time.  We really recommend the Boone Scenic Valley Railroad to everyone!

Lots of Blogging to catch up on!!

We have been so busy doing fun things we have failed to blog about them!!  First and foremost after DJ's birthday party we had some business trips to north Iowa, this included a fun time at the park in Humboldt.

Merry-go-round for all!!

Then we have to check out the Gazebo...
